Pollinator Celebration

Celebrate National Pollinator Week at the Kennett Square Farmers Market!

Explore & learn with your farmers plus community guests like the Kennett Greenway, Chester County Beekeepers, The Land Conservancy for Southern Chester County, Kennett Area Park Authority (Anson B Nixon) and Rep. Christina Sappey’s office.

Guest vendor Gateway Garden Center will have pollinator-friendly native plants for sale, Organic Mechanic Soil Company will be on hand for your organic soil needs, and Moss & Mineral will have solitary bee homes & kits.

At 4pm, the Kennett Library is hosting a talk and activity in the picnic table area of The Creamery adjacent to market entry. The president of Chester County Beekeepers Association, George Datto is excited to share his knowledge about the threats to honey bees and other pollinators, and what we can do to help protect them.

Special Kennett Township Board of Supervisors Meeting: Kennett Greenway

The trails consultants and Kennett Township Board of Supervisors will be available to discuss the design options for the Chandler Mill trail and West South Street path.

Prior to this meeting, the public will have the opportunity to review the designs at several other meetings in March. See our events for more details. They will also be available on our website for your review.

A zoom link will be available on Kennett Township’s Agenda Center the Friday prior to the meeting.

Kennett Greenway Spring Clean Up

Campers using the Greenway to walk to the Kennett YMCA

Come join us to help clean up the Kennett Greenway and the East Branch of the Red Clay Creek from State Street to Walnut Street. We are going to be picking up trash and removing brush and invasives before the spring time growth.

Parking and the volunteer table will be located at the rear parking lot of the Kennett Area YMCA.

Get Re-Kennected Activity Trail

 

The Greenway Activity Trail is a free family-friendly, COVID-compliant outdoor adventure on Saturday, October 3, 2020 from 8am to noon in Kennett Square.

 

Safely enjoy re-kennecting with the joy of community, history, nature, and the future Greenway!

Walk, bike or run down the Parrish Trail and Chandler Mill Road, which will be closed to car traffic. There will be plenty of room for safe fun!

 

Limited parking is available at Pennock Park, across from the Parrish Trail. The round trip trail is approximately four miles; come for all or part of the trail!

 

Free snacks, Michoacana ice cream and merch on the trail!

Kennect to Nature: Liven up your walk in the woods as you look for and learn about some of the natural treasures that make our area so special.
